The psychology of villain: understanding the dark side

This topic is quit fascinating to the peoples because we always see villains in movies, novels, dramas and in your favorite anime or a comic villain. Did you know? how a villain is made and why nowadays people start linking villains more than hero.

Evils inception

A villain is not born as a villain, this begins with a traumatic event or a series of misfortunes. as per my last blog I tell you your early experiences develop your personality in your adulthood, it's a one of a reason of begin a villain. Psychology says a child starts learning things for their elder and caregivers they treat them that's the way the child starts perceiving thing, if the childhood experience is not good than in future may this child face issues on build relationships and to trust someone and this small thing highly cause the people who face this. This thing made the person underconfident or start hating people, worse as a villain.

let's understand this with a story telling example:

Lucy's Journey to Becoming a Villain

Lucy was born into a middle-class family. Her father didn't like her because he thought she was a burden. He treated her badly, making her feel unwanted. Lucy lived with her grandparents for five years, away from her parents.

When Lucy played with her friends, she saw them with their parents and felt sad. She wanted to be loved and live with her own parents. One day, she finally went to live with her parents, feeling happy and hopeful. But soon, she realized her father still saw her as worthless because she wasn't a boy. Her mother scolded and beat her for getting bad grades.

After her parents divorced, Lucy moved back to her grandparents' house with her mother. At just 12 years old, she faced a lot of pressure to do well in school and make money for the family in future. They wanted her to get good grades, go to college, and build a house for her mother. No one asked Lucy what she wanted. She wasn't good at school, so her mother often scolded and beat her.

By the time Lucy turned 19, she hated everyone. She felt that everyone in the world was her enemy. She faced many problems as a teenage girl and still didn't find peace. Her boyfriend cheated on her, which made her feel even worse.

All these bad experiences turned Lucy into a villain. She was no longer the innocent girl she once was. The pain and suffering she went through made her embrace darkness and become a symbol of anger and revenge.

Lucy's story shows how neglect and mistreatment can turn someone into a villain. It's a reminder that everyone has a story, and understanding their pain can help us see the reasons behind their actions.

Why now a days people start liking villain?

if we saw these days movies or any web series the character of villain showcase the backstory of villain in story. Writer of story shows how society treat and somewhere also they only want respect, love and value. Like 2024 famous K-drama queen of tears villain only want love when we see the past story of villain is his childhood is not good and when time fly's he became villain. that's the reason today's people saying line, villain is not born as villain it is made by society.

in movies heroes are show with perfection and great person who does many things to their friends or loved one, it seems quite unrealistic so, that can may be one more reason why peoples sometime like villains more than heroes.
